There is no better feeling than waking up in the great outdoors surrounded by nature. Whether you’re taking in the scenery on the mountains, or listening to the sounds of the forest, camping or caravanning is a rewarding experience in more ways than one.
Whatever type of camping trip you are on, and no matter if you’re bedding down in a caravan or getting back to nature in a tent, it’s likely you will have to put your cooking skills to the test by preparing a meal by the campfire at some point. So, when you’re under pressure to feed hungry mouths, what is your go-to recipe?
The hardcore camping enthusiasts among you have probably had your fair share of sausage and beans with s’mores - that’s marshmallows to you and me - for dessert, so how about trying something a bit different the next time you’re on cooking duty?
At Ventura, we like to think we get right to the heart of what makes our customers tick, so we’ve come up with a few quick and easy recipes that we think you’ll thoroughly enjoy.

- 1 teaspoon of chocolate chips
- Ice cream cones (enough for everyone!)
- A bag of mini marshmallows
Another easy option with delicious results, s'mores can be made that little bit different by adding chocolate chips and an ice cream cone! Simply place one teaspoon of choc chips into an ice cream cone, followed by a layer of mini marshmallows. For the best results, continue to layer until the cone is completely full.
Next, wrap the cones tightly in tin foil and heat on the campfire for around five minutes, or until the marshmallows are melted. Delicious!
